Darvocet (Propoxyphene) is a narcotic pain reliever. Darvocet is Analgesic drug. Acetaminophen is also a pain reliever and helps to bring down fever. It also increases the effects of Propoxyphene. Darvocet as a pain reliever is half as strong as Codeine and equally effective as Aspirin. Darvocet is a chemical derivative of Methadone (Narcotic pain reliever). Propoxyphene Hydrochloride is more effective when combined with Aspirin or Acetaminophen. Propoxyphene Hydrochloride is about 30% more potent than Propoxyphene Napsylate

Darvocet should not be taken in larger amounts or used for longer time then the Doctor’s prescription.
