Darvocet Drug Interactions
While using Darvocet do not use any other over-the-counter cough, cold, allergy, pain medicine without consulting your doctor. Acetaminophen is found in many medicines so if you take too many medicines together you may accidentally take to much acetaminophen. It is advised to read the label of the medicine and see if it contains acetaminophen. Alcohol may increase your risk of liver damage if you are also taking Darvocet (acetaminophen). Medicines for cold, allergy, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, antidepressants, or seizure can add to sleepiness caused by Propoxyphene, or can also slow down your breathing. Tell your doctor if one needs to use any of the other medicines with Darvocet.
- Darvocet could react with Aspirin or a blood thinner such as Warfarin (Coumadin).
- Darvocet may react with Carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Tegretol).
- Darvocet can react with Glycopyrrolate (Robinul)
- Darvocet reacts with Mepenzolate (Cantil)
- Darvocet may react with Atropine (Donnatal and others), Benztropine (Cogentin)
- Dimenhydrimate (Dramamine), Methscopolamine (Pamine) or Scopolamine (Transderm-Scop)
- Darvocet can interact with bladder or Urinary medications such as Darifenacin (Enablex), Flavoxate (Urispas), Oxybutynin (ditropan, Oxytrol), tolterodine (Detrol), or Solifenacine (Vesicare)
- Darvocet can interact with bronchodilator such as Ipratropium (Atrovent), or tiotropium (Spiriva)
- Darvocet may interact with irritable bowel medication such as Dicyclomine (Bentyl), Hyoscyamine (Anaspaz, Cystospaz, Levsin & others) , or propantheline (Pro-Banthine)
- If you have been prescribed Darvocet by a physician let him know about all the other medication you are using like vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors.
